Delivered by the Sivogi team
01 The challenge
Selling online involves far more than a product page. Payments, shipping, tax, stock and customer communication all have to work together, and when they do not, shoppers abandon checkout and staff spend hours fixing orders by hand. Many stores are also hard to grow — adding products, markets or channels means fighting the platform instead of selling.

04 In depth
What makes an online store work
An online store has more moving parts than a business website. A customer has to find a product, trust the page enough to buy, pay without friction and receive the order on time — and your team has to manage stock, invoices and shipping behind the scenes. If any one of those steps is awkward, sales leak away. Our ecommerce website development work, from Ongole for clients across India and abroad, focuses on making each step simple for both the shopper and the business.
Choosing the right platform
There is no single best platform. Shopify is hosted and well maintained, which suits many brands that want to focus on selling rather than servers. WooCommerce gives more flexibility on WordPress, especially for content-led brands. A custom build is worth considering when you have unusual pricing, B2B ordering, dealer portals, subscriptions or integrations with existing ERP and inventory systems — in that case our web apps and dashboards work comes into play. We recommend the simplest option that meets your needs today and will not block you as you grow.
Payments for Indian and international buyers
Indian shoppers expect UPI, cards, net banking and often cash on delivery. We set up gateways such as Razorpay, PhonePe, Cashfree or PayU in your business’s name, and test refunds and failed payments as well as successful ones.
If you sell abroad, we can add international options such as Stripe or PayPal alongside Indian gateways, and configure multi-currency display or checkout where your platform and gateway support it. Eligibility, settlement and fees are set by each provider, so we confirm what is available for your business before building around it.
Shipping, tax and operations
We configure shipping zones and rates, connect courier or shipping aggregator services where they fit, and set up GST-compliant invoices that match your registration. The aim is that an order flows from checkout to dispatch without anyone re-typing details into a spreadsheet. For larger operations, we can connect the store to accounting, inventory or CRM tools so stock and customer records stay consistent.
A catalogue customers can navigate
A well-structured catalogue is the difference between a browser and a buyer. We organise products into sensible categories, set up variants such as size and colour, add filters that reflect how customers actually shop, and load products in bulk where possible. Clear photos, honest descriptions and visible delivery and return information do much of the selling.
Product SEO from the start
Product and category pages can attract steady search traffic if they are built correctly. We give each page a unique title and description, avoid duplicate pages created by filters and variants, add product structured data and keep pages fast. For brands that also sell on Amazon, Flipkart or other platforms, our marketplace services help keep listings consistent with your own store.
After launch
Once the store is live, we train your team to add products, manage orders and handle refunds, and provide a short guide covering how the store is set up. We stay available for fixes, platform updates and new features as your range and markets grow, and you keep ownership of the store, accounts and data. We can then help you build traffic through Google Ads shopping campaigns and SEO, and track which products and channels actually produce sales.
Pricing: Store costs depend on the platform, catalogue size, design work and integrations. Platform, payment gateway and shipping fees are charged separately by those providers. We quote after a short discovery call.
How long does an online store take and what does it cost?
The main drivers are the platform, the number of products and variants, whether product photos and descriptions are ready, custom design work, and the integrations you need for payments, shipping and accounting. A straightforward Shopify store is quicker than a custom build with complex rules. We give you a written scope, timeline and quote after a discovery call.
Should we choose Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom build?
Shopify suits most businesses that want a reliable, hosted store with low maintenance. WooCommerce runs on WordPress and offers more control if you already use it or need content-heavy pages. A custom build makes sense when your pricing, ordering or inventory rules are unusual. We explain the trade-offs before you commit.
Which payment gateways can you integrate?
For Indian buyers we work with gateways such as Razorpay, PhonePe, Cashfree and PayU, covering UPI, cards, net banking and cash on delivery where supported. For international buyers we can add options such as Stripe or PayPal, subject to their eligibility rules. You open merchant accounts in your business's name, and providers charge their own fees.
Can the store sell in more than one currency?
Often, yes. Shopify and WooCommerce both support multi-currency selling through built-in features or extensions, and some gateways settle foreign currency payments. What is possible depends on your platform plan, gateway and business registration. We check these together during discovery rather than promising a setup that may not be available to you.
Can the store generate GST invoices?
Yes. We configure tax settings and invoice templates so each order produces an invoice with your GSTIN and the correct tax breakdown. We recommend your accountant reviews the settings before launch, because tax treatment depends on your products and where you ship.
Will our products show up on Google?
We build product and category pages to be search-friendly, with clean URLs, unique titles, product structured data and fast loading. We can also set up Google Merchant Center for free and paid product listings. Rankings depend on competition and ongoing work, so we do not guarantee positions.
